When four roommates all become brides: bridemates – Thousand Oaks, CA, Bridal Portraits

So here’s a once in a lifetime experience: we got to photograph not 1, not 6…but 4 brides! The story goes like this: all of them were roommates until each of them was wedded off to the man of their dreams. This only took about 6 months actually. Thankfully for us, they decided to don their gowns one more time to celebrate their friendship/matrimonies. So. Rad.

Erica and Gino: Engagement Photos, Malibu, CA

We got to spend a glorious evening with Erica and Gino and their dog Chase. We met them at Malibu Seafood (super good) for a late lunch then went to their favorite beach to hangout. It’s such a privilege to witness the beauty of a relationship. Walking down the sunny beach, it was so amazing to watch the way that Erica and Gino interacted and genuinely enjoyed each other. We finished the night off with a glass of wine and talked until the light faded. We’re so glad these two are a part of our lives and that we’ll get to photograph them saying their vows on the cliffs of Big Sur this Fall. Epic times.

James and Lindsey: Engagement photos, Santa Paula, CA

Sometimes, you just have to go ahead and post a ton o’ photos. This is one of those times. We spent an afternoon exploring the historic town of Santa Paula with James and Lindsey creating some engagement images. Almost everywhere we went, we had people honking and waving…these two are pretty much famous in this town. And why not? They’re basically perfect together. I have no more words to describe the awesomeness that ensued. You should really just scroll down and look at the photos.

Sammy and Alex: Engagement Photos, Westlake, CA

Oh man….this was good time. Sammy and Alex have to be one of the most genuine coupes we’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. Their smiles and laughter were straight up contagious. We had such a great time getting now them and tromping around through nature. Let’s just say they were about 5 feet away from getting run over by a deer. Crazy. In conclusion: good people, killer hangs.

Ira and Taylor: Maternity Photos, Thousand Oaks, CA

We’re so excited to show you the photos of Ira and Taylor! We photographed their wedding about 3 years ago and it was great to reconnect with them and see them start a family. Seriously though, its so cool to get to be a part of capturing people’s stories in this way. These two are gonna make great parents and we can’t wait to meet and photograph their little boy in a couple months. Be on the look out for some photos of tiny feet.

If you’re pregnant and you like our work, you should talk to us. We had tons of fun during this session and we want to do many more.

Ryan and Caitlin: Wedding, Carmel Valley, Holman Ranch

Today we take you to Holman Ranch in the beautiful Carmel Valley.  It’s easy to be inspired when you’re in the midst of such amazing scenery and around an awesome couple in love. We’re so happy that Ryan and Caitlin asked us to photograph their wedding. Not only did we have a blast but, we made some new friends in the process. They said their vows over looking the valley, ate dinner in one of the coolest courtyards, and danced the night away in a rad barn. Oh and did I mention that there were fire pits and s’mores? More weddings like this please!

Peter and Kristin – Engagement Photos – Malibu, CA

Peter and I had the very special honor of photographing these two. Kristin has been a long time family friend of ours and we are so happy she found Peter to share her life with. We spent an awesome afternoon hanging out at Mugu rock in Malibu, a special place in Kristin and Peter’s relationship. We can’t wait to see them get hitched in a couple weeks! Stay tuned for some photos of their big day.

Danny and Jenny: Engagement Photos – Westlake, CA

Danny and Jenny are, hands down, some of the coolest people ever. We spent some time with them in the hills of Westlake and then took them to the hidden gem that is Lake Sherwood (The original filming location for Robin Hood). We had a great time exploring the great outdoors and then had dinner with them at one of our favorite restaurants: Umami Burger – if you’ve never eaten there you might not know what it’s like to be alive. Danny and Jenny’s wedding is going to be in Portland this August and we couldn’t be more excited. If you’re from the Portland or Seattle areas and are interested in us photographing you while we’re in the Northwest, please send us a message through our Contact Form.

Albert and Sherry’s Wedding – Bard Mansion, Port Hueneme, CA

Bert and Sherry’s wedding was such a privilege to be a part of. They are so incredibly in love and it couldn’t have been a more joyous occasion. Its so awesome to become good friends with the couples we photograph – we can’t wait to hang out with them again. The bride and groom both looked stunning (Bert even wore his dinosaur socks for the occasion) and the Bard Mansion was beautiful. The night ended with one of the craziest wedding dance parties we’ve witnessed complete with lasers and a smoke machine. All this to say, it was a great day and we were so happy to be involved. If you haven’t had a chance to see their engagement photos yet, click here.
