Tricia and Warren: Pasadena and Downtown LA Cityscape Engagement Photos

At the start of the new year, we finally got the chance to meet Tricia and Warren in person after many an e-mail, skype video, and phone call. All four of us geared up to get wet and muddy on what was supposed to be a rainy day in LA. Instead, we got one of the most perfect west-coast evenings that anyone could have asked for. We met these two at Copa Vida in Pasadena for a latte and later made our way to Griffith Park. We played around at the tennis courts where Warren and Tricia both played in high school and then hiked our way up to grab a view of DTLA while the sun set.

Let us tell you, this was one of the best ways we could have asked to start off 2017. Though Tricia and Warren were both nervous (as most everyone is in front of a big camera), their trust in us and willingness to play and enjoy each other inspired us more than anything. We had such a blast getting to know them and photographing their love story that we stayed out way past sunset and enjoyed the city lights together.

We can’t wait to meet up with these two again at their wedding this August. Enjoy!

Jake and Sabrina: Engagement Photos, San Francisco, Muir Woods, Marin County, Sightglass Coffee, Rain, Destination Wedding Photographer

Jake and Sabrina are like two peas in a pod. That’s not to say they are vegetables or anything…it’s more a reference to the closeness of their relationship and the kindred-ness of their spirits. Ya I’m no word-smith but these two are awesome. They invited us up to San Francisco to join them at some of their favorite spots. Even the incessant downpour couldn’t cast a gloom on how much fun we had. We spent the better part of the day exploring and photographing around the city and across the Golden Gate Bridge in the Muir Woods. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Jake and Sabrina and are so excited to be photographing their wedding in the mountains later this year. Enjoy some liquid love.

Jerry and Desiree – Engagement Photos, Ojai, California

Its been super fun getting to know Jerry and Desiree. For their engagment session, we jumped in our car and drove up Highway 33 past Ojai and stopped whenever we saw pretty things, which was basically everywhere. Their laughter and joy was contagious and we are so excited we get to see them tie the knot this summer. Happy viewing!

Kyle and Kelly: engagement photos, Avalon, Catalina Island, CA

The day we spent with Kelly and Kyle on Catalina Island goes down in the books as one of the most epic engagement sessions we’ve ever done. Catalina is about an hour by boat from Los Angeles but feels like a world away. Kyle grew up on the island and Kelly has family from there as well…crazy coincidence since there’s only about four thousand people on the island. Clearly they were meant to find each other.

Kyle’s parents picked us up in their awesome 1960s Volkswagon bus and drove us all over the island on roads that are only accessible to locals. When we got to the other side of the island, we watched a tall ship (or a pirate ship according to Emily) anchor as the last bit of sunlight streamed through the low clouds and made dazzling patterns on the Pacific. Magic.

We can’t wait to get our film back from this shoot and will probably be sharing more photos once we do. Also soon to come: Kelly and Kyle’s intimate wedding on a Malibu mountaintop!

Jon and Savannah – engagement photos, Thousand Oaks, Lake Sherwood, CA

Last week, we walked through fields of gold with Jon and Savannah. We couldn’t be more excited for these two people to dive head-first into marriage. A while back, Peter photographed Jon for his personal project, Heed the Beard. You need to check it out.  What’s awesome is that we know that when these two get married in August, it won’t be the last time we’ll be seeing them. Becoming friends with clients is like getting to take the whole party home with you. We’re getting to share this awesome time in their lives with them and it immediately makes us closer. So take a gander at some beautiful people loving each other in beautiful places and be inspired. I know we were.

David and Alaina: Engagement Photos, Portraits, Arts District, LA, CA

David and Alaina. Peanut butter and jelly. Pizza and beer. All perfect pairs. Great times are inevitably had when there’s a rad couple and some deserted city streets. This engagement session was no exception. The afternoon we spent in Los Angeles couldn’t have been better. Let’s just say it all started off on the right note when we met up at the Pie Hole – the one stop shop for all your pie needs. We’re so excited to have made some new friends in David and Alaina and can’t wait for their wedding later this year.

James and Lindsey: Engagement photos, Santa Paula, CA

Sometimes, you just have to go ahead and post a ton o’ photos. This is one of those times. We spent an afternoon exploring the historic town of Santa Paula with James and Lindsey creating some engagement images. Almost everywhere we went, we had people honking and waving…these two are pretty much famous in this town. And why not? They’re basically perfect together. I have no more words to describe the awesomeness that ensued. You should really just scroll down and look at the photos.

Sammy and Alex: Engagement Photos, Westlake, CA

Oh man….this was good time. Sammy and Alex have to be one of the most genuine coupes we’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. Their smiles and laughter were straight up contagious. We had such a great time getting now them and tromping around through nature. Let’s just say they were about 5 feet away from getting run over by a deer. Crazy. In conclusion: good people, killer hangs.
