A Sampling of Favorite Moments from 2016

Well another year has come to an end (yeah, yeah, we know that happened like 5 weeks ago) and we’re left feeling like we have no idea where the time went. In an attempt to make some sense out of the last 12 months and get an idea of what sort of work we were producing, we went back through the images we made and picked out some of our favorite photos. Does this collection of photos truly capture all of our favorite moments from this year? Absolutely not. Not even close. This was whittled down from about 500 photos…which was already hard. And in hopes that we wouldn’t leave you scrolling for all of 2017, we tried our best to just share a sampling of all the great moments that blew our minds this past year. Our 2016 was filled with so much joy and beauty. We are infinitely grateful to everyone who trusted us to tell their stories through the art of photography. Thank you all so much for opening up your lives to us.  Thanks for looking!

2013 Favorites – a collection of wedding, travel, maternity, engagement photography

Well, that was a good year – it’s crazy that 2013 is over already. It’s really hard for us to look at our work objectively and so it’s hard to pick our “best” work from our many thousands of photos. These images don’t really represent the scope of our work and aren’t necessarily our “best” but they are certainly some of our favorites from this last year. We are so thankful for all of the awesome people who have trusted us to photograph them on some of the most important days of their lives. We’ve made some great friendships and seen some cool places. It’s been an amazing journey and it’s so fun to look back on this year and see the ways we’ve grown. We can’t wait for what 2014 will bring!

Dylan and Sara: Los Angeles Adventure, Downtown, Griffith Park

Last week we had the awesome opportunity to spend some time showing Dylan and Sara around LA. They’re amazing photographers and all around great people. We started out at Umami Burger in Santa Monica then took them to the Art District and had some Handsome Coffee and pie. We finished up the day with a sunset sesh at Griffith Park. All in all it was a killer day. Anyway, there’s really no way to get photographers together without a lot of picture taking. So here you have it: some pictures.

Portland and Seattle: some personal travel photography

So we got the rad opportunity to photograph Danny and Jenny’s wedding in Portland a little while back. It was a blast. We decided that since it was our first time in the Northwest, we wanted to hangout for a little while and also visit Seattle. We really loved the overarching laid-back vibe of Portland. I mean, who couldn’t love a city that places so much importance on brunch? While we were there it was hot and sunny and kind of just felt like California. I’m thinking that’s a rare occurrence and we would have been totally fine with it except that we were hoping for some killer cloud photos. Emily and I had an awesome time exploring the city while consuming amazing food/bevs. We can’t wait to go back and see some other parts of the city. Segue via train to Seattle. Our first day there we decided that it would be a good idea to walk obscene distances and see everything. For everything other than our feet, it turned out to be a great idea. We got unbelievable biscuit sandwiches, explored Pike Place market, took the ferry across the bay, Checked out the salmon ladder things, drank killer coffee, drank the best mead ever (with a side of amazing pizza), went up in the Space needle, and finished off the day checking out the Chihuly glass exhibit. It was a killer day. Our time on the Space Needle was pretty magical. Not only did we get to see a stunning sunset but we also had the most unbelievable view of Seattle framed by a full moon and the majestic Mount Rainier. The next day we had the singular pleasure of being photographed by the one and only Benj Haisch. It was amazing. Seattle was a really fun place to hangout but we simply didn’t have enough time to do everything we wanted. Looks like we’ll just have to go back soon. Anyway, thanks for reading my novel and I hope you enjoy the photos!

Danny and Jenny’s Rooftop Terrace Wedding – Portland, OR

Every now and then Peter and I do really long blog posts….its not really our thing, but there are exceptions to every rule. When we come across a couple like Danny and Jenny, we just can’t help ourselves. They invited us to be a part of their rooftop wedding in Portland this summer. It was basically what one might describe as “magical.” They currently live in Los Angeles but decided to get married in downtown Portland where they first met. There’s no getting around the fact that Danny and Jenny are beautiful people, but that doesn’t just mean on the outside. It was such a privilege to see how in love these two people are. We were so happy to be able to explore and be inspired by a new city. I hope this is the first of many Portland weddings we get to photograph. Keep a look out as we will be posting some more photos from our travels through the Northwest soon!

Recentish photos: Ventura, CA

Here are a few photos we like. There’s no theme but they are all pretty much from our new hometown – Ventura, CA. We love it here. Although we love weddings, we also like to take some photos for ourselves once and while. Enjoy!
