The Grooters – Family Photos, Camarillo

This winter we got to photograph my brother and his amazing family in Camarillo. Daniel, Jamie, Lily, and Sophie are so full of love and bear hugs. It was altogether a really fun time at the park. Here are some of our favorites.

Danny and Casey’s Rad Wedding – Santa Clarita, CA

What an awesome way to start off a new year! Danny and Casey are some of the coolest people and their wedding was such a great time. Nothing makes us happier than when a bride and groom are having a blast on their wedding day. With their awesome combination of friends and family, that’s exactly what was going on. People converged on Santa Clarita from all across the globe to celebrate this awesome union – South Africa, the UK, New Zealand, to name a few. It was truly an honor to photograph and share in this beautiful occasion!

The Tseitlins – Family Portraits in Thousand Oaks

We had an awesome time photographing Peter’s sister and her family in Thousand Oaks. Our nieces Eva and Sofie are the sweetest girls ever and they were such a blast to photograph. Although we don’t normally share family photos on our blog, we love to do them. If you or someone you know is looking for some family photos, please let us know!

Jesse and Amy’s Intimate Mammoth Lakes Wedding, CA

Hi everyone! Emily here. This is the first post that I have personally put together on our blog so I hope you enjoy it! I decided to take the lead because this story is very personal to me. My own brother, Jesse, said his vows to my new sister, Amy, on our family vacation to mammoth this summer.

My family had been planning a long-awaited trip together in Mammoth Lakes where we were to rent a cabin and have a good old-fashioned Grooters (my maiden name) reunion. A couple weeks before the trip, my brother Jesse proposed to Amy, who we had all come to know and love over the past couple years. After some contemplation, they decided to tie the knot during our family vacation. My oldest brother, David, acquired a license to wed them. On a perfect, sunny Tuesday in July, we all walked together into a forest clearing, and witnessed their union to each other.

Peter and I see a lot of weddings. Its easy to get jaded and think its all about how good your decorations, dress, or flowers can be. This marriage was a blessed reminder of the love and commitment that supersedes it all.

I hope you guys like long posts because we’re trying one out tonight.

Chris and Amanda: Private Estate wedding, Pacific Palisades, CA

Where do we start with this one? There’s way too much to write. Let it suffice to say, we really loved Chris and Amanda’s wedding. It was beautiful, unique, and tons of fun. The Pacific Palisades were totally showing off and provided the best backdrop imaginable for this party of a wedding. We had a lot of photos we liked from this wedding so we decided to post a few more than usual. We were so honored to photograph this day!

Chris and Amanda: Malibu engagement, Point Dume, CA

Chris and Amanda were so fun to photograph. It was such a pleasure to celebrate their engagement with them. We all had a great time with them climbing around ocean cliffs in Malibu. Their wedding also happened to be an amazing event but you’ll have to wait a bit to see those photos. Enjoy!

Karissa and Jonas: Santa Barbara Courthouse Wedding, CA

Karissa and Jonas are both artists with a serious sense of personal style. Karissa spent much of her childhood in China and she used a lot international inspiration for her wedding day. She designed her own dress after 1999 Coco Chanel and coupled it with a 20 foot silk sari for her train. The day was full of artistic details including a gold-dipped bird skull boutonniere, a traditional chinese tea ceremony, and their amazing 50s chevy get away car. The ceremony was held in the Mural Room in the historic Santa Barbara courthouse – a beautiful cathedral-style room with restored paintings covering the walls. The reception was an intimate event held at the Opal – a local Santa Barbara restaurant – with amazing food and ambiance. Beyond being unique and artistic, Karissa and Jonas are genuinely great people and their wedding day was truly a joy to be a part of.  We hope you enjoy!
