Zach and Loretta: Portraits, Vasquez Rocks

Sometimes when you need a little inspiration, it’s a good idea to take some friends out to the desert and see what happens. That’s just what we did…and here is what happened. Zach and Loretta are great people and we’re lucky to call them friends. Here are few portraits of their faces/bodies.

Leo and Kat: Portraits, Airbnb Airstream, Malibu, California

Leo and Kat have to be some of our favorite people of all time. They’re also wicked photographers (see here). They’ve been such amazingly supportive and fun friends to have in our lives. When they asked if we could take some photos of them, we didn’t hesitate for a moment. The four of us stayed at an airstream in Malibu on the top of the Santa Monica Mountains. It was a magical night filled with lots of laughs and good memories.

Oh, and thanks Leo for grabbin’ a shot of us with our trusty steed, the Toyota Chinook.

aaaaand one more of the Chinook for good measure.

Brooke Borough: Portraits, headshots, Kappen Photography, Ventura, California

Brooke Borough popped into our lives in Las Vegas one day at a photographer conference. She wasn’t a Borough yet and we weren’t aware then how she would become part of our lives.  Since then, we’ve had the pleasure of discovering what a talented, rich, bubbly soul she is and can now call her and her husband Zack some very great friends.  We were kinda like kids on a playground taking her portraits. She isn’t used to be on the other side of the camera but she did great. Check out her work: projectpoiema.com

David and Alaina: Engagement Photos, Portraits, Arts District, LA, CA

David and Alaina. Peanut butter and jelly. Pizza and beer. All perfect pairs. Great times are inevitably had when there’s a rad couple and some deserted city streets. This engagement session was no exception. The afternoon we spent in Los Angeles couldn’t have been better. Let’s just say it all started off on the right note when we met up at the Pie Hole – the one stop shop for all your pie needs. We’re so excited to have made some new friends in David and Alaina and can’t wait for their wedding later this year.

When four roommates all become brides: bridemates – Thousand Oaks, CA, Bridal Portraits

So here’s a once in a lifetime experience: we got to photograph not 1, not 6…but 4 brides! The story goes like this: all of them were roommates until each of them was wedded off to the man of their dreams. This only took about 6 months actually. Thankfully for us, they decided to don their gowns one more time to celebrate their friendship/matrimonies. So. Rad.

Erica and Gino: Engagement Photos, Malibu, CA

We got to spend a glorious evening with Erica and Gino and their dog Chase. We met them at Malibu Seafood (super good) for a late lunch then went to their favorite beach to hangout. It’s such a privilege to witness the beauty of a relationship. Walking down the sunny beach, it was so amazing to watch the way that Erica and Gino interacted and genuinely enjoyed each other. We finished the night off with a glass of wine and talked until the light faded. We’re so glad these two are a part of our lives and that we’ll get to photograph them saying their vows on the cliffs of Big Sur this Fall. Epic times.

Alyssa Armstrong – Portraits, Ventura, CA

This is our friend Alyssa. She’s a pretty amazing woman and a great photographer. As a photographer, its not always often that Alyssa gets to be on the other side of the camera. But it was high time she experienced the goodness that is getting your portrait taken. We had a great time exploring some new places in Ventura. We’ve really been enjoying this whole personal portrait thing.  Let’s do more of this. If you want us to take your picture, call upon us.

Sammy and Alex: Engagement Photos, Westlake, CA

Oh man….this was good time. Sammy and Alex have to be one of the most genuine coupes we’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. Their smiles and laughter were straight up contagious. We had such a great time getting now them and tromping around through nature. Let’s just say they were about 5 feet away from getting run over by a deer. Crazy. In conclusion: good people, killer hangs.

2013 Favorites – a collection of wedding, travel, maternity, engagement photography

Well, that was a good year – it’s crazy that 2013 is over already. It’s really hard for us to look at our work objectively and so it’s hard to pick our “best” work from our many thousands of photos. These images don’t really represent the scope of our work and aren’t necessarily our “best” but they are certainly some of our favorites from this last year. We are so thankful for all of the awesome people who have trusted us to photograph them on some of the most important days of their lives. We’ve made some great friendships and seen some cool places. It’s been an amazing journey and it’s so fun to look back on this year and see the ways we’ve grown. We can’t wait for what 2014 will bring!

Colin and Leigha – Bard Mansion, Port Hueneme, CA

Here’s the deal: I have no idea where to start with this wedding but here it goes. Colin and Leigha are some of the raddest people you will ever meet. We’ve known Leigha for a really long time and couldn’t be happier that she found a guy as awesome as Colin. Their day was seriously so much fun. The Bard Mansion in Port Hueneme provided a killer background for these gnarly nuptials. All of the guests and family were super welcoming and let’s just say the whole bridal party took the role of “party” very seriously. It’s weddings like these that stop us in our track and remind us of how amazing it is that we get to do this for a living. Really rad if you ask me. Anyway, thanks again Colin and Leigha for having us out – you guys are the best!
