The Grooters – Family Photos, Camarillo

This winter we got to photograph my brother and his amazing family in Camarillo. Daniel, Jamie, Lily, and Sophie are so full of love and bear hugs. It was altogether a really fun time at the park. Here are some of our favorites.

Savour This Moment cooks something up

We recently had the pleasure of meeting Marlene and Michael. They are brother and sister and together they run Savour This Moment Catering & Events. We got to spend an afternoon with them where they made an amazing meal as we photographed. We then went and took some photos for their upcoming feature on the Wedding Standard. They cater all sorts of events with amazing food all made from local Farmers Markets produce. On top of making great food, Marlene and Michael are rad. Super rad.

Adam and Sarah’s Engagement – Santa Ynez, CA

This engagement session was an amazing opportunity for us. We photographed Adam and Sarah on a private 650 acre piece of land in the breathtaking Santa Ynez Valley. The land is only accessible by 4×4 vehicles and is beautiful and wild. We had a great time getting to know Adam and Sarah and scoping out the ceremony location for their sunrise wedding ceremony later this Summer. They are some of the coolest people we’ve ever met. Adam is the first legit cowboy we’ve ever really hungout with – he shoes horses for a living and is a really nice guy. In all, it was a great time meeting some new friends and getting some seriously killer pics.

The Desert

Once upon a time, Peter decided that Emily deserved to have some time off for her birthday. Did he take her dancing? or to a fancy restaurant? or to a concert? no. He took her to the desert – because he knows her best.

After a visit to the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs (our fav), we took a day to explore the haunting landscape and towns around the Salton Sea. The half-abandoned town of Bombay Beach rested near a beach made up of fish bones and dead birds with a boat launch that looked like a nuclear waste spill. From there we traveled through Niland to Salvation Mountain and Slab City. There are no words to describe this place. Photos can’t really do it justice. So you should go see it for yourself. Following our Southern California desert trip we made our way all the way up to Mammoth Mountain. We had to stop at Manzanar in the Mojave desert and battle the crazy winds to snap some photos of each other at the bottom of the snowy Sierras.

There’s way too much to tell about these amazing places and why we wanted to visit them. But hopefully the photos will spark your interest enough to see them for yourself one day. Enjoy.
