Colin and Leigha – Bard Mansion, Port Hueneme, CA

Here’s the deal: I have no idea where to start with this wedding but here it goes. Colin and Leigha are some of the raddest people you will ever meet. We’ve known Leigha for a really long time and couldn’t be happier that she found a guy as awesome as Colin. Their day was seriously so much fun. The Bard Mansion in Port Hueneme provided a killer background for these gnarly nuptials. All of the guests and family were super welcoming and let’s just say the whole bridal party took the role of “party” very seriously. It’s weddings like these that stop us in our track and remind us of how amazing it is that we get to do this for a living. Really rad if you ask me. Anyway, thanks again Colin and Leigha for having us out – you guys are the best!

Elle – Personal Portraits – Camarillo, CA

Sometimes after long work days, Peter and I need to clear our heads and remind ourselves that, for us, taking photographs is more than a job. We often end up equating picking up our camera to going to “work.” But by the time we’re done shooting we realize its so much more than that. So on occasion, believe it or not, we actually go out to shoot for FUN! And it winds up being the awesomest creativity-fuelling event ever. On this particular occasion, we grabbed our amazing friend Elle Wildhagen and traveled to Mars….oops I mean, Camarillo in some charred hills.

If you want to be inspired beyond your wildest dreams, you should check out Elle’s work: ellenwildhagenblog.com She’s an amazing photographer and I’ve learned so much from her since we became friends about a year ago. So please enjoy this small escape to another planet with our beautiful friend.

Danny and Jenny’s Rooftop Terrace Wedding – Portland, OR

Every now and then Peter and I do really long blog posts….its not really our thing, but there are exceptions to every rule. When we come across a couple like Danny and Jenny, we just can’t help ourselves. They invited us to be a part of their rooftop wedding in Portland this summer. It was basically what one might describe as “magical.” They currently live in Los Angeles but decided to get married in downtown Portland where they first met. There’s no getting around the fact that Danny and Jenny are beautiful people, but that doesn’t just mean on the outside. It was such a privilege to see how in love these two people are. We were so happy to be able to explore and be inspired by a new city. I hope this is the first of many Portland weddings we get to photograph. Keep a look out as we will be posting some more photos from our travels through the Northwest soon!
